Dawson Group is hiring for an Accounts Payable Administrator responsible for invoice processing, vendor payments, and statement and account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial operations.

In this role you will be a valued member of the Shared Services team within Dawson Group, working in a permanent full time, Accounts Payable Administrator position and will report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This position will help to maintain current accounts and assist with all invoicing functions. Your base location will be Kamloops, BC however, Dawson Group embraces distributed work, meaning the successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home and/or at our office.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
Match purchase orders to invoices and follow up on discrepancies
Reconciles credit card purchases and warranty accounts
Pays vendors and employees by receiving and verifying expense reports
Maintains accounting ledgers
Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

WHAT YOU BRING

Background in job costing, with multi-company experience
Proficient with computer applications/software such as Sage 300, NetSuite and TimberScan

Analyze quotes made by subcontractors for completeness, competitive pricing, ability to perform, and scheduling restraints.
Assess equipment needs, operations sequence, crew size, and site constraints.
Manage the cost, negotiation and settlement of change orders and mitigate potential claims during construction in conjunction with the lead Project Manager.

Dawson Civil is looking for a Project Manager who will be a key leader and will provide oversite on operations to support successful project completion through problem solving initiatives and project coordination efforts.

Lead and manage the project team throughout the full project lifecycle, from initiation through close-out.

Provide strong leadership and management to the team while focusing on project objectives and in adhering to the standard policies and procedures.
Work closely with internal clients to ensure a team approach to project delivery.
Source, select, and qualify the hiring of employees and develop and retain talent.
In collaboration with Safety Manager, manage and model site safety having zero tolerance for safety infractions.

WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of civil construction practices; and
Minimum of five (5) years of construction Project Manager experience.
Certified Engineering Technologist or Project Management Professional (PMP) considered an asset.
Experience managing projects in excess of $10 million.
Demonstrated skills in management, and effective decision-making capabilities.
Strong project execution experience with focus on planning, scheduling, cost, and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Journeyman Certificate is an asset

Preferably Grade 12 education; and up-to-date technical knowledge acquired through trade-related courses since achieving TQ certification
BC Driver's License, minimum Class 5. Class 3 with Air is an asset
CVIP Inspection license is preferred, or willingness to acquire
Welding experience is an asset
Capable of performing heavy physical duties
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Dawson Construction is looking for a Foreperson of Paving who will be responsible for onsite facets of the paving process including; safety, quality, roadworks and cleanup.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Foreperson, Paving reporting to the Superintendent, Paving. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job.
Provide management and direction to the paving team.
A strong knowledge of paving best practices .
Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment.
Attend and participate in safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site.
Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions.
Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately.
Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required.
Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance.
Ensure construction meets approved specifications.
Provide expertise on all pipelaying methods and processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the Asphalt, Paving, or related discipline
Clean Drivers Abstract is required
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
Experience with Heavy Job an asset
